At Hapuku Kitchen, on the wild Kaikōura coast, a morning in the garden becomes a meal on the table. Start with a guided walk through our farm and gardens - collect eggs, meet the pigs and cattle, and forage whatever's at its seasonal best. Back in the kitchen, chef Fiona will guide you, hands-on, through preparing a shared two-course feast, while you swap stories over locally roasted coffee, New Zealand tea and fresh-baked treats. Finish at the table with the dishes you've cooked, paired with premium Canterbury and Marlborough wines, craft beer or artisanal non-alcoholic options, then take the recipes home with you to cook again.

We're not able to accommodate Vegan, Paleo, or Dairy-Free diets in our regular scheduled classes but we'd love to arrange a private class tailored to your needs. Just get in touch to discuss.
Our hands-on classes are kept small, with a maximum of 8 guests. Menus change with the seasons, so what's on the table may vary depending on what's fresh and available.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellations by you - for all cooking classes, private classes and experiences:
61+ days prior to your scheduled experience date: full refund
31–60 days prior: 50% of the total booking fee refunded
Within 30 days: no refund
Changing your date:
Requests to change your booking to a different date must be made at least 31 days prior to your scheduled experience date. We're not able to guarantee date changes requested within 30 days, given our small group sizes and limited availability.
